Affronti means “the place”
Ambiance
Designed by co-owner Margo Goodwin-Gordon of Zsa Zsa Zsu Commercial
Interiors in collaboration with San Francisco’s Architects
II design duo, the vision was an unpretentious, hang out space
with comfortable leather furnishings blending with modern works
of art by local artists to offer a space that is equally welcoming
for an intimate date, group dinner/meeting or an after-hour
cocktail party. The inside dining room is dominated by a horseshoe
shaped wine bar with seating options that include a long banquette,
cozy tables and chic lounge area with a unique fireplace. String
lights criss-cross the open air private courtyard which offers
protected private dining with an intricate riddling rack gated
entry, lush plants, tables with generous sized chairs, as well
as cushy outdoor lounge seating and a corner water feature that
adds to the relaxed, easy mood of the space.

Cal-Mediterranean Small Plates
Chef-Owner, Jude Affronti attended the celebrated Culinary Institute
of America where he received the Solomon Award for promoting
the enhancement of culinary arts. After additional food studies
in Italy, he moved to Manhattan as Chef de Cuisine at Pò,
the flagship locale of nationally acclaimed Iron Chef Mario
Batali. Leaving the Batali Empire in 1999 to return to his native
Bay Area, Jude worked in such legendary kitchens as Stars Restaurant,
Zuni Café and Bacar Restaurant and Wine Bar. In 2002,
Jude took an Instructor position at the California Culinary
Academy.
Wanting to raise
his children in a small town environment, in 2006 Jude came
to Healdsburg, landing at the popular Charcuterie and later
at Santi, where he headed lunch. He is sought after for lectures,
demonstrations & judging in both Manhattan and the Bay Area
and volunteers with the Healdsburg Education Foundation and
other local causes.
Wine I
“Come for the wine, stay for the food!”
Wine Buyer and Assistant Manager Aaron Romano have developed
a wine list that is diverse, thoughtful and ever changing. With
the food on his mind, Aaron fashions a wine list to complement
the multi-dimensional, Cal-Mediterranean cuisine of Affronti.
A native to the Wine Country, he knows where to find the most
interesting wines, wineries, and wine trends. He is forever
on the lookout for small, local producers as well as European
wines that are both food friendly and out of the ordinary. Aaron
hopes to help educate and broaden the palates of our guests
by introducing them to new varietals, while still fulfilling
cravings for their quintessential favorites.
Service
General Manager Julie Moore is an integral part of the Affronti
team. She has earned a stellar reputation in Healdsburg for
her many years of warm professionalism and exemplary customer
service at Zin Restaurant and the Grape Leaf Inn. Julie has
developed a staff that is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating.
